            Basketball Recap: Lone Star Longhorns vs. Idalia Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            Lone Star hadn't done well against Idalia recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. The Lone Star Longhorns had just enough and edged the Idalia Wolves out  45-43. This was payback for the Longhorns, who suffered  a  70-32  loss the last time these two teams met.

Lone Star was led to victory by  Grant Kuntz and  Anderson Weathers.  Kuntz  dropped  a double-double on 16 points and 12  boards, while  Weathers  went 6 for 9  en route to 14  points in addition to seven  rebounds and four  steals. Kuntz is also crushing it when it comes to  steals: he's   grabbed at least two every time he's  taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was  Jesus Hermosillo, who  posted seven  points and six  rebounds.
 Lone Star  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with ten  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in five consecutive  matches.
 Despite the  defeat, Idalia saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Broderick Kite  dropped  a double-double on 19 points and 13  boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most  points  Kite has scored all season.  Kolby Morris was another key player,  putting up nine  points and six  rebounds.
Lone Star is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record  this season. As for Idalia, their loss was  their fourth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 4-6.
 Lone Star has already played their next game,  a  46-40  win against Weldon Valley on the 24th. As for Idalia, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  an  80-39  defeat against Simla on the 24th.
