Basketball Game Preview: Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans vs. Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs

Gilbert Classical Academy and Rancho Solano Prep are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilbert Classical Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Gilbert Classical Academy was beaten by San Carlos 71-12. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rancho Solano Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They were dealt a 57-16 defeat at the hands of Phoenix Country Day. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Eagles are ranked 12th).

Rancho Solano Prep's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5.

Gilbert Classical Academy came up short against Rancho Solano Prep when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 42-29. Can Gilbert Classical Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
