Softball Game Preview: Ponte Vedra Sharks vs. Beachside Barracudas

Ponte Vedra has gone a perfect 3-0 against Beachside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Sharks will host the Barracudas at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Ponte Vedra fell victim to Paxon School For Advanced Studies and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 6-0 to the Golden Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Sharks have lost by exactly six runs.

Meanwhile, Beachside didn't have quite enough to beat Flagler Palm Coast on Wednesday and fell 4-3.

Madden Lutze put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Mallie Meadows made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Beachside's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Ponte Vedra, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Ponte Vedra beat Beachside 5-2 in their previous meeting back in February. Do the Sharks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barracudas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
