Basketball Recap: Dynamic duo of Candela Garcia and Carynton Hobson lead Schaumburg Christian to victory

The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy 54-32. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Schaumburg Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Schaumburg Christian was led to victory by Candela Garcia and Carynton Hobson. Garcia scored 23 points along with two steals, while Hobson scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Garcia has scored at least a third of Schaumburg Christian's points. Bella Bustamante was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.

Schaumburg Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schaumburg Christian will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Westlake Christian Academy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
