Baseball Recap: Rauner Takes a Loss

Rauner came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the ITW David Speer Academy Pride. The Wildcats have struggled against the Pride recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Rauner saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Anaya, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Anaya is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Randy Castillo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Rauner's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5. As for ITW David Speer Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

While Rauner had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
