Football Recap: Wickliffe Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wickliffe walked away with it. They skirted past the Springfield Tigers 17-15. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Despite the defeat, Springfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Caldwell rushed for 134 yards and two TDs. Caldwell was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards.

Wickliffe's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Wickliffe will challenge Kirtland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine contests. Springfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
