Softball Recap: Riverdale Country Takes a Loss

Riverdale Country was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Tigers. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 26-13.

E V was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Izzy Shin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Riverdale Country's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Trinity, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Riverdale Country will take on Berkeley Carroll at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
