Softball Recap: Pine Forest Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pine Forest waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Terry Sanford Bulldogs a 12-0 shutout. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

The team relied heavily on Savannah Winstead, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Green, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one run.

Pine Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terry Sanford only posted an OBP of .318.

Pine Forest pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Terry Sanford, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Coming up, Terry Sanford will welcome E.E. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine Forest will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' game: after the Bulldogs face off against the Golden Bulls, they'll take on Pine Forest again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
