Baseball Recap: Converse Comes Up Short

Converse was the 9-6 winner over Quitman when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Converse lost 12-3 to Quitman on Saturday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Converse saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Durr, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Another was Ty Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Durr wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Converse kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Converse's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Quitman, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-11.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Converse Wildcats duke it out with Stanley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quitman, they will venture away from home to take on Weston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
