After a string of four wins, Sulphur Springs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rains Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sulphur Springs of the 45-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Sulphur Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Rains, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sulphur Springs Wildcats face off against the North Lamar Panthers at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rains, they will face off against Commerce at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
