After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Ridge, Apache Junction was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the ALA - Mesa North Mavericks by a score of 18-7. The Prospectors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Apache Junction's defense made their presence known, laying out Crew Germaine four times. In that department, Lane Church was the leader with two sacks.

Despite the defeat, ALA - Mesa North had strong showings from Seth Allen, who picked up 96 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Germaine, who threw for 162 yards and one TD.

Apache Junction's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for ALA - Mesa North, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
