Chilton is 9-1 against Kiel since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Chilton knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Kiel likes a good challenge.
Chilton gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Gwendolyn Sell was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Sell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reegan Woodard, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Danika Gates was another key player, earning one RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.
Chilton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Kiel came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Reedsville by a score of 5-2 on Friday.
Like Chilton, Kiel also got a great game from a two-way player: Liz Neils. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Neils has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Taylor Halfmann was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
Chilton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Kiel, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Chilton's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Kiel, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Chilton continue to outrun the ball?
Chilton beat Kiel 7-4 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
