League recap: Silver Creek bests Berthoud in blowout

3A Tri-Valley recap Nov. 7, 2012

Silver Creek took down Berthoud 48-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ben Sjobakken threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Roosevelt led 3A Tri-Valley in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on Mead.

Robert Fulton provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Northridge beat Skyline. He completed 15 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 65 yards. Fulton's favorite target this week was Michael Graff, who caught five passes for 85 yards.

Cook Cody was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 100 yards as the Grizzlies bested the Spartans.

Ricks was the best wideout in the league this week as Silver Creek topped Berthoud. Ricks racked up seven receptions for 122 yards. Zane Lindsey helped Silver Creek's passing attack out by catching five balls for 92 yards.

Griffin Nelson put up the best numbers through the air as the Maverick fell to the Roughriders. He finished with 20 completions for 257 yards and five touchdowns. Nelson's favorite target this week was Alex Mead, who caught three passes for 122 yards.

Northridge's Fulton and Graff have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 3A Tri-Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Fulton has thrown for 2687 yards this season, while Graff, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 51 catches for 804 yards. Garret Angstead from the Falcons leads the league in rushing with 846 yards.

Mike Apodaca's team's Sjobakken is within 44 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Elizabeth.

Jeff Fulton's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,052 from 5,320. The improvement came about via a 33-23 victory over Skyline last week.
