Basketball Game Preview: Dighton Hornets vs. Ingalls Bulldogs

Dighton is 8-2 against Ingalls since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dighton Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Ingalls Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Dighton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games.

Ingalls better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Dighton really get things going. Dighton simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Decatur Community 66-33. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 26 points or more this season.

Dighton had a senior duo take command as Daniel Cramer went 7 for 17 on his way to 21 points along with six assists and five steals and Payton Redburn went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Redburn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was George Von Leonrod, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Dighton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ingalls, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 51-39 win over Minneola on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ingalls' win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.5 points. As for Dighton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Everything came up roses for Dighton against Ingalls in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 70-42 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dighton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
