Volleyball Recap: Edwardsville Gets the Win

Edwardsville came into Saturday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a set and slipped past the Pleasant Plains Cardinals 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Edwardsville who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 24-26, 15-11.

Livia Goebel paced Edwardsville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Goebel got some help from Lucy Malawy and her 18 assists. Madelyn Ohlau controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Edwardsville now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pleasant Plains, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Edwardsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Nashville on the 6th. As for Pleasant Plains, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Bloomington on the 6th.
