For the second straight game, Houston County will face off against McEwen. The Fighting Irish will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Houston County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Houston County and McEwen had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Fighting Irish came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday.

Connor Mahoney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Ryder Forrester was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Brody Powell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Houston County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Houston County's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for McEwen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
