Baseball Recap: Tennyson Starts Season with Win Against Ygnacio Valley

Tennyson had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Ygnacio Valley Wolves. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Nick Zamora was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Zamora was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Tennyson will have a chance to go back-to-back against Ygnacio Valley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
