Basketball Recap: Newbury Park Adventist Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pine Tree Academy last Saturday, Newbury Park Adventist came back down to earth. The Newbury Park Adventist Gators had to suffer through a 79-31 loss at the hands of the Hillcrest Christian Saints. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Newbury Park Adventist's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-6. As for Hillcrest Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season.

Newbury Park Adventist won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ojai Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Newbury Park Adventist is on a four-game streak of home wins, Ojai Valley a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Hillcrest Christian, they and Oak Park will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
