Softball Game Preview: Clay-Chalkville Cougars vs. Montevallo Bulldogs

The Clay-Chalkville Cougars will head out to take on the Montevallo Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Things were looking good for Clay-Chalkville after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Shades Valley by a score of 11-10. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mounties 5-0 in the first period.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Montevallo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Dora 11-9.

Montevallo now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clay-Chalkville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2-1.

Clay-Chalkville couldn't quite get it done against Montevallo in their previous meeting back in March of 2015 as they fell 6-2. Can Clay-Chalkville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
