Volleyball Recap: Orrick Triumphs

Orrick won the last time they faced Leeton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bearcats came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1.

The victory didn't come easy: Leeton scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 17-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Audrey Thomas paced Orrick's offense, picking up ten kills. Thomas got some help from Jaicee Mccartney and her nine assists. Thomas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Orrick's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Leeton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Orrick will be playing in front of their home fans against Kingsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bearcats are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Leeton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Crest Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
