Cosby and Washburn are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Cosby Eagles will host the Washburn Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cosby is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Last Tuesday, Cosby took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-17 win over Hancock County. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Indians are ranked 392nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Washburn got the win against Hancock County on Friday by a conclusive 53-28. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Cosby better keep an eye on Ebany Hill. She was instrumental in Washburn's win, going 6-for-11 from beyond the arc to rack up 26 points and five steals. Hill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Taylie Proffitt was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven steals and five assists.

Cosby's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points over those games. As for Washburn, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Cosby strolled past Washburn when the teams last played back in January by a score of 55-40. Does Cosby have another victory up their sleeve, or will Washburn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
