Baseball Recap: Valley Lutheran Gets the Win

Valley Lutheran won the last time they faced Laker and things went their way on Monday too. The Chargers came out on top against the Lakers by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Jacob Grimpo spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Valley Lutheran's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Diener, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Tyler Belt-Captain also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Valley Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Laker, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Valley Lutheran and Laker should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Chargers (ranked 220th) will meet Carrollton (ranked 524th) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Laker will challenge Vassar at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (212 vs. 503).
