Basketball Recap: Mcintosh County Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Greene County

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only McIntosh County Academy walked away with it. They came out on top against the Greene County Tigers by a score of 49-41 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McIntosh County Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Ellis, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 21 points and three steals. Ellis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mj Quarterman, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

McIntosh County Academy pushed their record up to 26-5 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Greene County, they moved to 22-8 with that defeat, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.

Coming up, McIntosh County Academy will take on Savannah at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Savannah will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something McIntosh County Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Greene County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
