Socorro had won three straight home games and Alyssa Almanza did her part to make it four on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Austin Panthers by a score of 2-0 for which the team can thank Almanza, who had 17 digs and three aces. Almanza is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Socorro easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-11.

Socorro's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Austin, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3.

Socorro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Horizon on the 22nd. As for Austin, they will venture away from home to take on San Elizario at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
