Softball Recap: Cordova Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Cordova entered their tilt with Carbon Hill on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in March, they had to take a 10-9 defeat.

Khloe Herron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mia Vance, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Kacharos, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Cordova's record is now 17-12. As for Carbon Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Cordova will be playing at home against Oakman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Carbon Hill, they will venture away from home to challenge Oak Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
