Baseball Recap: Westfield Technical Academy Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Westfield Technical Academy entered their tilt with St. Mary on Monday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Saints. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 back in March.

Josh Elmer made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. Elmer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Andrew Galczynski was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Witczak, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Westfield Technical Academy's record now sits at 12-2. As for St. Mary, they dropped their record down to 10-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Westfield Technical Academy will head out to face off against Franklin County Tech at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Mary, they will venture away from home to take on Smith Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
