Basketball Recap: Saugus Comes Up Short

Saugus lost against Swampscott back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Saugus Sachems lost to the Swampscott Big Blue on the road by a 69-51 margin. While losing is never fun, the Sachems can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Big Blue are ranked 96th).

Saugus has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Swampscott, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saugus has already played their next game (against Minuteman Regional), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Swampscott has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Salem.
