Jasper gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Loogootee Lions. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.
In the three sets Jasper was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 24-26, 25-13.
Nora Breitwieser was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 14 digs and two aces.
They weren't the only good server: Jasper was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loogootee only served four aces.
Despite the loss, Loogootee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jocelynn Sims had 14 digs and two assists.
Loogootee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Jasper didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Evansville Reitz on the 19th. As for Loogootee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Northeast Dubois on the 21st.
