St. Bede and Dwight are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The St. Bede Bruins are taking a road trip to take on the Dwight Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

St. Bede is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Orion on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. St. Bede was dealt a 66-36 defeat at the hands of Orion. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 565th, while the Chargers are ranked 203rd).

Meanwhile, Dwight was able to grind out a solid victory over Gardner-South Wilmington on Wednesday, taking the game 53-42. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The victory got Dwight back to even at 15-15. As for St. Bede, their loss dropped their record down to 13-17.

St. Bede barely slipped by Dwight in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 69-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Bede since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
