Football Recap: Tohopekaliga Comes Up Short

Tohopekaliga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oak Ridge Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 two weeks ago.

Avishi Patel threw for 67 yards and one touchdown. Jennalie Merino was her top target, picking up 65 receiving yards and one TD.

Tohopekaliga's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Oak Ridge, they moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Tohopekaliga does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak Ridge, they will challenge Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' defense has only allowed 7.1 points per game this season, so the Pioneers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
