Softball Recap: Hooks Now 12-2 over Last 14 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hooks walked away with it. They beat the New Diana Eagles on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. Considering the Hornets have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Stella Fincher was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Greenwood, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Hooks is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for New Diana, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-10-1.

Hooks will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
