Basketball Recap: Windthorst Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Henrietta, Windthorst was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bellevue Eagles 49-46. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Eagles are ranked 1392nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Windthorst has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Bellevue, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windthorst will head out to take on Nocona at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellevue, they will head out on the road to square off against Eula at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
