Basketball Game Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights

The Toll Gate Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Toll Gate is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-68 heartbreaker at the hands of Paul Cuffee. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly two points.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Damola Oremosu, who went 9 for 18 to rack up 19 points and eight boards. Brayden Healey was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Exeter-West Greenwich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 79-72 to Prout. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (61), the Scarlet Knights still had to take the loss.

Exeter-West Greenwich's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Toll Gate, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Everything came up roses for Toll Gate against Exeter-West Greenwich in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, as the team secured an 82-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Toll Gate since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
