Volleyball Recap: Kalama's Undefeated Season over After Five Games + How To Watch

If Kalama was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mark Morris on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chinooks fell just short of the La Center Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Chinooks have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Kalama took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 29-27, 15-11.

Emily Capen paced Kalama's offense, picking up 16 kills. Capen got some help from Jacey Hutchinson and her 39 assists. Capen also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Zella Storedahl, racking up four apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Kalama fell to 4-1. As for La Center, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Kalama has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Stevenson on the 18th. As for La Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Columbia on the 18th.
