Soccer Game Preview: Layton vs. Farmington

The Layton Lancers will face off against the Farmington Phoenix at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Layton's last six matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Layton needed a bit of extra time to put away Davis. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Darts 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for Layton as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

They hit Davis with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cameron Whitesides, Crew Hawley, and Isaac Kartchner.

Farmington had taken Syracuse down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Phoenix fell just short of the Titans by a score of 2-1. Farmington have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory got Layton back to even at 5-5. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Layton beat Farmington by a goal when the teams last played back in March, winning 2-1. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Phoenix turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
