Softball Recap: Juarez-Lincoln Starts Season with Win Against Grulla

Juarez-Lincoln gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past the Grulla Gators 6-4. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 14-10 victory the Gators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Genesis Valadez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing one base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she also racked up three hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. April Marroquin was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juarez-Lincoln will challenge Valley View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grulla, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Cigarroa at 7:00 p.m. Grulla comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
