Basketball Recap: Northeast Comes Up Short

Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the Seminole Warhawks, falling 66-34. The Vikings lost against the Warhawks in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 25-22 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Northeast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jy'Aira Washington posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Chimner, who put up five points.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Seminole, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Northeast won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Shorecrest Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Seminole, they will host Countryside at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
