Soccer Recap: Lake Highlands Extends Winning Streak to Five

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Highlands). They never let the Fort Bend Elkins Knights onto the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Knights are ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lake Highlands' offense was hitting Fort Bend Elkins from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal.

The win (which was Lake Highlands' fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Lake Highlands wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Pearce on the 22nd. Fort Bend Elkins has also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Ridge Point on the 23rd.
