Volleyball Game Preview: First Academy Eagles vs. Tavares Bulldogs

The First Academy Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Tavares Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tavares took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on First Academy, who comes in off a win.

First Academy not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Eagle's View. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

First Academy found their leader in sophomore Addison DeArrmond, who had six digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for DeArrmond. Caurie Taylor also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

First Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August.

Meanwhile, Tavares lost 3-0 to The Villages Charter on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12, 25-9.

First Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Tavares, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

First Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Tavares in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
