Softball Game Preview: Pratt Greenbacks vs. Hillsboro Trojans

Pratt has won four straight games at home, while Hillsboro has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Greenbacks will host the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Pratt nor Kingman/Norwich made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Greenbacks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Greenbacks have posted since May 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hillsboro ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Council Grove.

Pratt is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hillsboro, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.

Pratt took their victory against Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 22-0 score. Do the Greenbacks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
