Baseball Recap: Oakleaf Takes a Loss

Oakleaf might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Keystone Heights who claimed the real prize. The Oakleaf Knights took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Keystone Heights Indians. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

JP Espinosa made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.

Oakleaf has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Keystone Heights and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Coming up, Oakleaf is taking a road trip to take on Fleming Island at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fleming Island will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Oakleaf surely won't give up without a fight. As for Keystone Heights, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Santa Fe at 6:30 p.m.
