Volleyball Recap: Midd-West Mustangs vs. Halifax Wildcats

After flying high against Lewisburg last Thursday, Midd-West came back down to earth. The Midd-West Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Halifax Wildcats on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.

Halifax's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Matter, who had 13 digs, six kills, and six aces. Matter is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Shae Ramberger was another key player, getting 12 digs, ten kills, four blocks, and two aces.

Midd-West's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Halifax, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Midd-West will venture away from home to challenge Danville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Midd-West is facing Danville at the right time seeing as Danville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Halifax does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
