Basketball Recap: Lake Highlands' Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Irving last Friday, Lake Highlands came back down to earth. The Lake Highlands Wildcats took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pearce Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 637th, while the Mustangs are ranked 296th).

Lake Highlands' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-18. As for Pearce, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lake Highlands Wildcats face off against the MacArthur Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pearce, they will head out to take on Irving at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pearce has four straight wins, Irving has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
