Baseball Recap: Hanover Has No Trouble Against Fairfield

Hanover was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Fairfield on Monday. The Nighthawks put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 7-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Nighthawks in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Chase Foreman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Hanover is undefeated when Foreman allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Tim Wagaman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Reece Long was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hanover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Hanover's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Fairfield, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13-1.

Coincidentally, Hanover and Fairfield will both be playing Biglerville the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Canners at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Nighthawks will host them at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
