Softball Recap: San Leandro Comes Up Short

After flying high against Piedmont last Thursday, San Leandro came back down to earth. The Pirates came up short against the Alameda Hornets on Wednesday, falling 14-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Pirates, who until this matchup were averaging three runs allowed.

San Leandro's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Alameda, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season.

San Leandro has already played their next contest, a 12-5 victory against Mt. Eden on the 2nd. As for Alameda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-0 win against Bishop O'Dowd on the 2nd.
