Soccer Game Preview: Lone Star vs. Reedy

The Lone Star Rangers will challenge the Reedy Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lone Star will be strutting in after a victory while Reedy will be coming in after a loss.

Lone Star's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Creekview. The victory continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

BraqElle Raisey and Camille Hairston scored both of Lone Star's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Reedy was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of The Colony by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Cougars are ranked 315th).

Lone Star pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Reedy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
