Volleyball Recap: Buffalo Grove Takes a Loss

Buffalo Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fremd Vikings. The Bison were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Buffalo Grove started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-7, 25-19.

Buffalo Grove's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Fremd, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season.

Buffalo Grove and Fremd should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Bison will square off against Schaumburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (138 vs. 277). Meanwhile, Fremd (ranked 38th) will meet Conant (ranked 491st) at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th.
