Baseball Game Preview: Sardis Lions vs. Douglas Eagles

For the second straight game, Sardis will face off against Douglas. The Lions will square off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sardis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Sardis' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Douglas with a sharp 12-0 victory. While the Lions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Adam Belk was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Sardis' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Douglas, they moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
