Basketball Recap: Devin Jones Key Part of a Team Effort in Rams Win

Monsignor Donovan Catholic's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 55-44 win over the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monsignor Donovan Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devin Jones, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Monsignor Donovan Catholic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Arnold, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds.

Jones wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Monsignor Donovan Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Edmund Burke Academy still got an impressive performance from Blake Reddick, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Reddick continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Owen Redd was another key player, putting up five points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Monsignor Donovan Catholic picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-11. As for Edmund Burke Academy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-10.
