Recap: Broome Centurions vs. Travelers Rest Devildogs
The Broome Centurions pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Travelers Rest. Broome has not had much luck with Travelers Rest recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Broome lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ja'Coreyun Broadus, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Broadus has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Xavier Hill, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Broome's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Travelers Rest, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
Broome will head out on the road to challenge Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Blue Ridge is ranked 133rd, while Broome is ranked 149th). As for Travelers Rest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carolina Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
